Prayed on Wednesdays and Sundays

The Resurrection — Piero della Francesca, c. 1465 (Sansepolcro)

The Resurrection — Piero della Francesca, c. 1465 (Sansepolcro)

The Glorious Mysteries celebrate the triumph of Christ over death and the glory He shares with His Mother and His Church — from the empty tomb to the crowning of Mary.

Begin

Make the Sign of the Cross and pray the Apostles’ Creed on the crucifix; one Our Father on the first bead; a Hail Mary on each of the next three beads; and a Glory Be. Then announce the first Mystery below.

The First Mystery

The Resurrection

Fruit of the Mystery: Faith

“They found the stone rolled away from the tomb; but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus… ‘Why do you seek the living one among the dead? He is not here, but he has been raised.’”
Luke 24:2–3, 5–6

Pray the decade

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary — pray ten times

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Fatima Prayer

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. Amen.

Then announce the Second Mystery and pray its decade in the same way.
